On behalf of the Residential School Survivors of Saskatchewan we extend an invitation for you to join us as we honor the children who never made it home and HONOR THE SURVIVORS . To GATHER AND share OUR historical knowledge and truths of the residential school system in canada
There were 140 federally run residential schools in Canada that operated between 1867 and 1996. Survivors advocated for recognition and reparations for the intergenerational impacts of harms caused. There were 22 federally run residential schools in Saskatchewan. The Indigenous peoples in Saskatchewan continue to advocate for the truth, recognition and accountability. Telling the truth about our history not only brings to light reconciliation, but also acknowledges the strength and resilience of Indigenous peoples and our cultures.
HEALTH SUPPORT STAFF WILL BE ON SITE THROUGHOUT THE GATHERING
